An Important Conversation
"OUR BEAUTIFUL BRAINS"
Exploring Neurodivergence and Unlocking Potential
Thu 1st Oct - 6-9pm
Tanfield House, West Tanfield, Ripon HG4 5JU
We are bringing together business leaders, educators, professionals, parents and supporters from across Yorkshire and the North East for an important opportunity to explore an issue that increasingly touches us all.
Why are so many children and adults experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, neurodivergence and emotional dysregulation? What may be contributing to this — and what can we do to optimise function, restore regulation and create meaningful change?
The impact reaches far beyond the individual, into families, classrooms, universities, workplaces and communities.
FLOW Yorkshire grew from decades of lived experience, research and training.
Our work looks beyond labels and symptoms, taking a whole-body approach to health. Through supporting the nervous system and the gut, diet and reducing toxic load, using non-invasive, science-informed therapies, we are not only bringing understanding to the often-bewildering circumstances faced by many, but also impactful change.
Since opening earlier this year, FLOW has attracted considerable interest from the scientific, wellbeing and education communities.
We are therefore delighted to bring together three highly respected voices in this field, for this special evening:
Professor Amanda Ellison — Physiologist and Professor of Neuroscience, Durham University and author
Lucinda Miller — Nutritional Therapist, Functional Medicine Practitioner and author
Kate Chaytor-Norris — Trauma-Informed Nutritional Therapist, Nutrigenomics Practitioner and author
Together, our speakers will help unravel some of the complexities surrounding how our brains and nervous systems are impacted by our modern world — exploring neuroscience, nutrition and other influences on brain health, while offering practical, science-informed approaches that help optimise function, improve regulation and support people to fulfil their potential.
The evening will also raise funds for the FLOW Foundation, established to widen access to FLOW Yorkshire’s services to those compromised by circumstance. Because we believe:
- Access to meaningful, impactful support should not be limited by financial circumstance.
- Appropriate support can help prevent crisis and strengthen individuals, families and communities.
- Dignity should never be the price of help.
We very much hope you will join us — or nominate a colleague or representative from your family or organisation — for an important conversation, delivering meaningful insight and practical advice, concluding with hope for the path ahead.
Because behind every diagnosis, statistic or struggle is a person — and a mind with great potential.
If you are unable to attend the event but you’d like to support the FLOW Foundation we would welcome all pledges here:
Warmest regards,
Neil & Allanah Bourne-Arton
